How was it?

I thought it went alright, enjoyed it actually. Just my ruler and pencil got a lot of work

Those diagrams munch your time.

How did everyone find the ternary tree? I would have much preferred to have written it myself than "fill in" code.

I was expecting something a bit more difficult, but I was pleasantly surprised and I'm happy
Agreed on the diagrams, they took up more time than some of the coding.
The ternary search was pretty easy, seemed like 6 easy marks.
Found it strange that there was so little recursion.

Glad it's over anyway, and hopefully I did as well as I feel it went
COS2144 on wednesday! My last exam for the year!

Yea same here. The celebration shall be deathly Hoping for a bit of an easy Java paper, simply because Java makes my bones itch.

Awesome Exam - no complaints

Only regret is I should have spent more time on this module. Only really got into late and so enjoyed it. Was having fun the whole of yesterday playing with pointers.

Must say that I see on 2nd level modules the exams are easy if you do all your assignments. For COS226, COS221 and this one I found that all the answers where based on assignments.

Only one thing gets my on this module and that is the Big-O - for some reason I just cannot understand it. When I look at code and write my answer down and then compare it to what the lecturer wrote then it just never make sense .... arrgghhh ... but at least I learn't last years answers for Big-O and that helped with this exam.

I thought it was pretty cool. Loads of free marks.
Very relieved there wasnt as much recursion as the past paper, I loathe recursion.

I was also stoked to see the assignment questions I practiced alot in the paper ^_^'

As for the diagrams, I drew the first iterations with a ruler, then I figured it was gonna take a lot longer using it, and thus free hand drew the rest

COS214 is also my last. And its gonna be a biatch. I am not fond of java. On reading the assignment 1 solutions, the lecturer said that for the UML diagrams they used some UML text book (which we dont have). No wonder their solution was insanely detailed. The vagueness of the prescribed textbook would never produce a solution like that. Anyway, thats why everyone did bad in the fist assignment of COS214 :/

One bonus on Java is they are dumping the text book next year. So glad I did not do it this year (reason, the text book was too expensive and I HATE JAVA!!!!)

The Java book makes me a sad panda. Java makes me a sad panda.

Next years COS214 will still be a java course, just with a different text book. But I found this years book to be really crap, so any other text book would be better.

A nice exam! Was also surprised about the minimal amount of recursion. And what a pity I didnt finish on this one, I wrote INF320 today! But at least its all over. Good luck to all the Java students writing tomorrow

You are right Scag, the results are not up yet and today is 11th as they promised. They are waging a psychological warefare against us

Now i really need to pass this module...failed my 3 maths modules including inf320..PATHETIC..guess i should throw in the towel :-(

@Wiseguy: What-ever you do - unless Unisa forces you do - and while you can afford it time & money wise - keep going!

I dont know hey, this module should be easy to mark imho. I am surprised it isnt out yet...Especially since COS214 is out.
