Welcome to the module COS226-9!

The exam and assignment solutions will be structured to cover work that appears in only the FOURTH EDITION of the prescribed book.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR EXAM ADMISSION IN COS226-9,A STUDENT MUST MEET BOTH OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

1. Submit at least one assignment BEFORE 10 MAY 2006.

2. Obtain at LEAST 100 examination credits by submitting the appropriate number of assignments by not later than 01 August 2006.

Due to regulatory requirements (imposed by the Department of National Education) the above would apply to the module.

We have received a number of queries from students regarding a credit for the MCSE certification. Due to departmental rules, students will not receive a credit for a MCSE certification as the scope and mode of examination vastly differs from that of of a UNIVERSITY examination.

Now i think i have to reply to this mail because i have not been able to fulfil the 1st condition for admission into examination. this is because i have not been able to get the prescribed books in Nigeria. I am meking efforts to get them in South Africa. Please can someone help me?

One of the conditions says before the 10th. What if due to problems with the internet, the assignment is submitted on the 10th? I think UNISA should show some leniency in this regard.

What if the compulsory assignment is submitted on the 10th of May and not before.

My request is that the condition should be rephrased to 'on or before the 09th of May' since the 10th is not included. Why should the '10th' be used when it is excluded.
