Prices to register a domain name range from as little as R 5.00 P/A to approx. R 5 000.00 for 5 years (depending on the domain name extension you require). Part of the registration fee goes to the domain name authority, the rest go to the ISPs. Registration of websites for non-profitable organizations are generally free provided they can prove that their organization is non-profitable. ISPs make their profit from their mark-up after allocating the domain name authority fee.
