Hi All,
1. Websites explaining techniques for hacking:
http://www.hellboundhackers.org/
http://www.hackthissite.org/
2. - Hacking tools and techniques described on these sites and readily available for download:
Website spiders, password crackers, spoofing programs, pingers, application cracking tools.
- How these techniques might be prevented?
We will never have a 100% protection before hackers attacks. Whatever program specialists will create, hackers will eventually find the way to crack.
To minimize the risk of attack we can use the following tools:
regularly updated anti-virus software, firewalls, proxy servers, anti spyware, SSL-protected emails and e-commerce websites, keeping software (especially OS and Web Browser) up to date.
-Is it good that such detailed instructions are freely available on the Internet?
There should be some sites that give information about hacking techniques so people are aware and know how to protect against them but I do not approve the hacking software so easily available on the Web (usually for free). It gives many irresponsible people ideas and encourages them to use these programs.
-Should network administrators monitor hacker sites? Why?
Yes, they should, so they are aware what is happening and they can prevent the possible attack.
