anyone have any idea when post grad results will be out - or do we have to wait until some time in the middle of march?

02 January ... oh no too late - I am already behind. It is too hot in summer, too cold in winter.Just got material last Friday. But some subjects don't even have any material to download, and I did not get it in the post. I've started procastinating early this year.

I've purchased some of my textbooks - and cut the plastic ties on the Unisa Parcel. Oh, and I've made up folder for storing Tut letters and notes. i.e. pretty well nowhere. Last year I was raring to go even in December. This year is somehow more difficult to get started.

I met Devesh today (purchasing a textbook) and just talking about studying is somehow "inspiring". Perhaps that is one "energy source" that Unisa students underestimate, and makes it easier to procrastinate.

Thank goodness for this forum actually!

I got my textbooks yesterday (all except 1), and starting with preparations and reading chapter 1 of COS311.
I'm quite keen to get into it, but I think I'll stick with COS311 'til the end of Jan, then I'll kick start the other modules.

MAT110 - Precalculus
Inf303 - Principles of databases
INF307 - Database Design and implementation
MNB101 - Business Management

I'm only going back to work on Monday so I want to give myself a couple of weeks at work before I need to focus on studying as well.
I'll have about 10 weeks of studying before the first assignment has to be in.

i have 11 modules this year. 8 or them being INF and COS 3rd year, 2 being MAT112 and 113 and the last being a 2nd year COS... not cool :<

i need to get good marks to get into honours at UCT... so ye... i think ill start studying beginning of feb

I haven't even registered yet lol. Work's so stressful - I'm trying to put of studying until I feel I can focus. Feb isn't a bad time to start either.

I couldn't take MAT103 this year, as my matric math marks were too poor. I need to do MAT110 as a prerequisite.

Matric math marks or Mat011 or Mat110 are a prerequisite for MAT103.
So, no, unfortunately not.

According to Unisa's rules, for 2 modules to be done at the same time, they state it as a co-requisite. So, nope, unfortunately not.
Calender Part no 2 - page 9.
Prerequisite:
If Module A is a prerequisite for Module B, a student must pass Module A before he/she enrols for Module B.
Co-requisite:
If Module A is a co-requisite for Module B and a student wishes to enrol for Module B but has not yet passed Module A, he/she must register for Modules A and B simultaneously.

but many people have done a module and its pre-req together - you just have to ask them for permission to do it.

maybe your results need to be a certain %?

I know cos201 and cos301 are well known "do with pre-req" modules

I doubt it had anything to do with %. I had all A's last year. Who do you know who's doing COS201 & 301 together the first time?

Celene, when i asked a Unisa person about it, she said that possibly if you fail the module that;s a prerequisite, they can consider you repeating it together with the next level module, i don't think they let you do it together anymore if you didn't attempt it. I tried last year and they didn't let me...

Lycium's done 301 in 2007 and he hasnt done 201 yet. He's doing that in 2008. smiling bouncing smiley
