I don't know what is happening... the call center are a bunch of jokers and there is no response at the faculty number.

I want to start early as we are expecting a child in March and I know I need to be ahead of the work as I hear that for at least 6 weeks I get no sleep.

You aren't the only one with problems.

I signed a petition complaining that the marks for COS201 were too low. I get an email to say my paper will be remarked which I never actually asked for and I also see that I've been charged R210 for the remark.

If you don't get up during the night with the new baby then you can get as much sleep as you like.
I don't think its really that bad but it does depend on how good your baby is.

I had to register for an extra math module (MAT110) today, to be able to MAT103 in 2009, which I was hoping to complete in 2008.
It's not too bad though, I could probably do with a refresher in Math. It is not exactly as though I was present in Std 9 or matric math.

Well, I have found that whenever I registered electronically in the new year, it went quite quickly, and you immediately have access to the electronic material....and can buy the text books, you can probably start mid jan...

Or, you can ask people who did your intended modules this year, and get the material from them, start so long? That you will get registered is a certainty, that it is going to happen over Christmas is an impossibility, instead of being mad, explore otehr avenues? smiling smiley

Hi,

Thanks for explaining what is preventing the Honours registration from
proceeding.

As you know, I need to start getting into the studies as soon as
possible due to the fact that I will be having my first born child
arrive in March. Therefore in order to manage my time I need to start
getting into the material yesterday! If I don't start soon as I am
sure anyone will appreciate that in March, April and May I will not be
getting much sleep; and consequently this could effect my study time.

If this delay is truly unavoidable; is there any way I could get
copies of the tutorial letters so I can buy the relevant text books
and start getting into the material needed to complete the first
assignments.

I am sure if you look at my marks it is likely that I haved completed
the Bsc with cum laude and therefore I doubt there is any confusion
about my eligibility for the registration; and that it simply being
held up by the bottle neck of the manual process you have described.

So, if I can get some official list of text books to buy; that at
least would allow me to get going now - and cheer me up immensely.

Thanks again for taking the time to look into my problem and inform me
of what is causing it.

Kind regards,
Ilan Pillemer

they should just give you exemption for it.... how did you convince them to let you do 301 before 201? or did you do both together and fail 201?

That is not always true.

Ours is 10 weeks now, and we got plenty of sleep. She wakes up maybe twice per night, you put the bottle in the mouth, she sleeps on.

The same with our previous 2, who were boys.

Just stay relaxed. They seem to be able to pick up on your emotions. You get stressed, they stress.

You need not completely rearrange your life around them. Babies are very adaptable human beings, quite the opposite to grown ups.

and they do say you must make your kids fit in around your life and not fit your life around theirs.
