I recently did the ikm C++ adaptive assessment.

Has anyone else done C++ online tests?

No can't say I have, whats the deal with the site do you have to pay in order to actually take the assessments?

I took the assessment at the company at which I applied for a C++ position.

maybe you got too high? they were looking for a junior person who would only have received 60%?

Yip, or someone they could force to do what they want, to convert into the dark side....seriously, managers dont like to hire staff that are smarter than them!

surely you are entitled to ask why they did not want you - maybe they can tell you that your score wasn't high enough or you wanted too much money etc?

No.. HR told me my score was fine; and in fact seemed puzzled. They definitely thought I would get an interview.

The reason given to them was that I did not have enough windows-specific C++ experience.

(But this was not specified in the job requirements; and the assessment was on pure ANSI C++.)

aaah.. yes.. I know of those lame excuses.. it generally means there is some other requirement that you don't fit but they are not allowed to say that to you....

ilanpillemer, can I ask a personal question....what is your colour? As that might explain certain decisions....

the thing is, if someone else that falls into the quota system applies for the same job, he, or preferably she, get the job even if their scores are lower....unfortunate reality...

yeah, maya the bee is why they start giving you lame excuses that actually make no sense whatsoever. apparently they are not allowed to tell you that you are not the right shade of purple.
