isnt that example line wrong???

in the table in assignment 1, the given min value for union is N2. surely it is wrong...it should be n1

since union is all the tuple in one set , or the other or both,
so the min is the smaller set
but 0< n1 < n2
so n1 is the smallest set
therefore the min should be n1

I think N2 would be the minimum because it is the bigger set - n2 may contain everything that is in N1 plus some extra things... you can't just "leave out" the extra things.

The expression is union therefore the union cannot be smaller than the largest set. Think about the lowest common multiple of 10 and 5 - that would be 10.
