Ass2 Q1 CPM network activity

Hi,

Assignment 2 , Q 1.2 Activity 2:

Shouldn't the latest start date for this activity be 8 weeks?

I do not have the Assignment in front of me, but if memory serves me right, it was wrong

They only took one path into consideration.
For some reason there has never been an erratta on this though?

I was looking at that exactly

* 14 - 6 = 8
* 24 - 9 = 15

we must take the latest of the two possible end dates which is 15

but activity 2 is the precedent to activity 4 along with activity 3. Now if we start at 15 weeks , we will never be able to move onto 4 and 5 in time and finish the project in 32 weeks.It is a backward pass and we need to take the latest date,but somehow this does not make sense to me. Am I missing something??

I think that we have to rethink activity 2, 3 and 4 so here goes.
(That is in terms of the latest dates.

activity 4 (only one option)
> 24 - 10 = 14

activity 3
> 14 - 7 = 7 <--- this is what the assignment result was
> 32 - 16 = 16

activity 2
> 24 - 9 = 15
> 14 - 6 = 8 <--- this is what I think it must be ***

*** in light of what morgoth said in the previous message it cannot be 15 because then it would miss the latest possible date for activity 4 ! ! !
That is 15 + 6 = 21 days - and the latest date that activity 4 can be completed in is 14 days!!!!

Take a look at this description I have given above and let me know if you also go for the earliest end date of 8 or if we should always take the latest of 15???

If so then activity 3 is incorrect!!!! since 16 is the latest date possible - opposed to 7 !?!?

my point exactly. I am 99.9 % sure that activity 2 is wrong: it needs to be 8 and not 15. That is the reason why I started this tread.

The seriously disturbing fact: Why wasn't this picked up? What happened to the errata?
