Assignment credits
February 27, 2007 02:34PM
I recently received an email stating that assignment 4 has been cancelled
because assignment credits are now included in the final mark. Is this something new for all subjects? I can't remember seeing something like this in
previous years.

Yes, there is a new regulation that assignment credits have to count at least 10% of the year mark. It will be explained in more detail in the 102.

So for whatever reason, if you miss an assignment and don't submit it, you can ose a percentage of your final mark?

Yes, although you should keep in mind that all three assignments together count only 10% of the final mark.

For a borderline student, that can be the difference between passing and failing

This is a UNISA ruling to which we have to comply and for those students that send in all the assignments, done with due effort it should not be a problem.
