Must say .... I was pleasantly surprised with my marks ... I got a solid 80% for the paper .... I am quite chuffed smile

I got 75%. A bit disappointing because I put a lot of effort into this module.

Someone mentioned on the phorum previously that for the Sci dept, our supps start from 30%+. We'll know if that's true once the final results is out.

Got a supp, but considering I got 10/11 modules for the year i'll be happy to spend Christmas studying........

When I wrote the paper I thought I did well but I got 47%. For some reason I think something's wrong somewhere.

If I apply for a remark, when will the result be out? If the marks don't change, will I be able to write the supp in Jan? How does this work?

You can write the supp on 15 Jan at 14:00. You need to pay an additional R120-00, either before or after the exam. I would try for the remark first if I had 47%

I would like to apply for remark but what if marks don't change? Then I will miss the supp and have to write at the end of the year which is what i'm trying to avoid as I have 5 modules then. I am also hoping to finish the degree next year.

Try to find out how long a remark will take, then maybe study for the supp in any case. If you don't receive your mark in time, write the supp. What have you got to loose?

also got 47%, doing the supp.
its a wake up call to me , like i mentioned.
happened once before so it's not a problem.
also thought i'd pass, about 60%. Mr Halland was kind enough to point out where i must focus on to pass.
it seems the MCP was also harder than i thought, and the diagram also screwed me.
i wrote out most of what i could remember right after the exam.
anyone else write out something?

i spoke to the lecturers, like i mentioned.
the first exam was a good prep for the supp.
there's no funny business it seems (last year COS221 exam 1 only had 15-20marks on ASM for example and the supp much more apparently).
we'll all ace it.

I also qualified for a supp. And after the exam I did write down the questions that i could remembered. Maybe we must exchange? I hope that the supp will be similiar!! Well let me know
