What kinda hash do you like?
June 04, 2007 08:21AM
I find the linear and binary search very very straigh-forward, graspable within minutes. Yet the mother of all headaches lurkes just a turn-of-the-page away. Not only did I find the hashing section monstrously hard to digest, I will find it very unnerving if it were to be included for our final exams.

However, I would like to know if anyone has suggestions as to how one could go about tackling (understanding) hashing... Any links, any mails, ANYTHING, would be appreciated.

Check tutorial letter 101. You only have to study page 538-539 for "hashing". the rest from 540-551 is not included. you are expected to know, understand and atleast explain the hashing method.(Just as binary and sequential search).

Only after I read this book did hashing seem easy and simple to understand.

And it is.
