I'm getting this error when I try to compile - "multi-character character constant" - what could the reason be for it?

Can you give a snippet of code where this error occurs? It might help more.

Are you working with Unicode characters?

I think I got that error in two of my assignment questions which I've already submitted. I don't think I'm working with unicode characters.
Its not too serious now, if I get it again I'll paste the code.
