Libby. Excuse me smiling. But ref the tut letter where I predicted this!!! Whoaaa!!! Blowing my own egosentric trumpet if ever there was a case for it!

But seriously. Next prediction. It's gonna get a whole lot WORSE!!! With 2000+ lines of code, why not?? (psst - it also happens to EVERYBODY ELSE on this course - the timing just differs...). Correct idea but simple how-could_i-have missed-that syntax errors..-

Best approach - if you can handle it - get up. Walk somewhere. Open your mind. Remember to deposit money into Mac's account. Or send him biltong. No, certificate not included with deposit. Go back. Repeat until solved. Ad infinitum.

No need to thank me. This advice is included in the course fees smile

But the SMART productive way to do it is to do non-prescribed error checking. E.g. remove the line/s (or paragraph/s) that result in the error/s (without impacting on the integrity of your code) and see if you can "isolate" the error.

Very powerfull approach.

I think that there are a few lines of code missing in guestbook.php as listed in the Masterskill manual.

After entering the code exactly as is listed in the manual, all I got was the : being added to the bottom of guestbookform.php. Looking at the code again, I noticed that no variables had been declared in guestbook.php.

Using $firstname=$_POST['firstname']; and the same for lastname and comments, guestbook.php is now doing what it is supposed to.
