Basic Statistics - STS1055

Anyone doing/done the above subject? The study guide is so user-UNfriendly. Can anyone suggest any textbooks or websites where more user-friendly material can be found?

I'm doing it and I agree with you - very unfriendly. I had a question for the lecturers once, and they never bothered to reply...

Surely there must be some textbooks which they could recommend for additional reading. This has to be the worst study guide (guide?) I have come across. For me, it seems the only way to learn this subject is by memorising everything which anyone can do but I'm afraid I don't think I would have achieved much from this course at the end.

Agreed. Im also doing it, but have to use two other books along with. But I do like, though, are the spaces in the study guide where we get to do our exercises.
Last year's students got to interact with each other, discuss issues relating to Statistics, etc. thru SOL. On that basis, I regret having dropped this subject last year.

What other books are you using?
