MIME-Version: 1.0 decoding
February 19, 2006 07:17PM
Hello,

I'm using thunderbird as my mail app and would like to if anyone can help me with, where I can find a mime decoder or let me know which settings are used to decode mime format mail.

As this what I'm recieving:

MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary = b1cf0afef6d89ebd248048c0a45d196dd

This is a MIME encoded message.

--b1cf0afef6d89ebd248048c0a45d196dd
Content-Type: text/plain
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

This not to do with TB not set to read both HTML and text messages?? Just a guess....looks like it was sent as text and TB is set to only read HTML...

Hi Mac,

Have check options and account settting, and am aware that those changes can be made to outgoing messeges, but unable to locate incoming mail setting other than font, folder etc options for TB, will look further into it.

Thanks

Hello Raven et al,

After some homework it be can sorted out...

It's encoded in Base64 which can be decoded manually through a text transformer or a extention on your mail app.

Thunderbird users can install the 1337 extention
or for other mail app users or public computer users can use this site:

Hope this helps you

Good. Non-solution posted from the top of my head....

BTW, as much as I love TB, I've been losing messages like you cannot believe. A long document is available on solving this problem. Been there, done that. No luck. For months. Reduced to other clients, none as nice as TB, but more stable. Maybe one day.

Hi Mac,

Was having the same problem with incoming mail just disapearing, that has been sorted out for the moment, someone suggested evolution and I'm going to
look into that, although I still have romantic notions towards TB , and as always that love might cause some bias.

Maybe after a couple more nightly builds a more stable ver. 1.6 will be on its way, we live in hope.

Hi Cameron - I've spent many hours trying to resolve this. For a day or two things are Ok, then woosh. Gone.

I'm going to download evolution now - have tried the rest from A-Z. Never knew about evolution.

I cancelled receiving messages like this as I keep on getting garbage. I use outlook @ home and @ work and no use.

Having tried every client out there, I discovered The Bat! http://www.ritlabs.com/en/products/thebat/

Not free, but worth every cent. 3 months and never will I use anything else again. I'm converted....
