A2Q5c - Student Privileges
June 16, 2009 01:30AM
Hey All,

I just want to double check I have not missed a change of DB Privileges for user STUDENT.
All questions so far have been done up till now using user STUDENT.

Currently STUDENT does not have rights to create or alter views.

SQL> select * from session_privs;

PRIVILEGE
----------------------------------------
CREATE SESSION
UNLIMITED TABLESPACE
CREATE TABLE
CREATE CLUSTER
CREATE SEQUENCE
CREATE PROCEDURE
CREATE TRIGGER
CREATE TYPE
CREATE OPERATOR
CREATE INDEXTYPE

10 rows selected.

I have gone through all the tut letters and the Manual and cannot find a change in privileges.
Have I missed it or am I correct in saying STUDENT should not have CREATE VIEW or CREATE ANY VIEW at this point.

Cheers

I found the same issue with the Oracle version for Vista. It does seem to have different rights to the XP version.

The lecturer suggested that I add the script for adding the rights and add a note to the answer to explain the extra script.

BTW. I had a similar problem on two other questions as well but finished the assignment on an XP pc which did not require the extra assignments.
