Just to clarify when you say the y-axis this is what it is referring to "glRotatef(0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0);" ?

Jip, copied straight from my project: glRotatef(rotateAngle, 0, 1, 0);

There is something it don't understand so clearly. We have to use the ASCII values for the esc, up and down buttons, but the ASCII table doesn't have values for the up and down buttons. Where do i look for those values? Can anyone please just show me the way?

Thanks for the help. Can you please tell me where did you get the information to use these functions. I have not seen it anywhere. Even the OpenGL referrence guide I have does not mention these GLUT_KEY_UP etc.

Got it from last year's solution tut - repeating this subject, so I have some "examples".

I had two months to get it done, but I have not. The second part (4b) seems simpler, it is a matter of proportion and placement that I can't get right in 4a. Worse I wonder how everyone else's solution looks like. The examples in the textbook are not very inspirational esp when you use the lookAt function and things dissappear - in fact in all of the examples ( Angels, Redbook, glut Examples) that I compiled to learn from, the items disappeared out of view with a few changes to x,y,z.

My village still looks like a 5 year old drew it. Then I deleted all the code for the display function and am starting over again. Except that when I woke uip this morning, the PSU fan on my 3 month old PC started coughing ominously.
