C++ on Vista
May 05, 2009 09:52AM
hi, i am having trouble loading C++ on a Vista machine. Any advice on how to go about the process. The instruction CD(for DevC++ from unisa) says that there is no support regarding installation on vista.

thanks Niren

I had problems compiling even the examples that came with DevC++

I found the following solution.

1)add "C:\Dev-Cpp\libexec\gcc\mingw32\3.4.2" to the binaries location under the directories tab (Tools - Compiler Options)
2)go to the programs tab and add c:\dev-cpp\bin\ to all the listings.

Or atleast use your equivilant file locations, but am sure you get the idea.

This solved my problems.

Hope that helps.

I had a few bumps installing the software on vista business but if you scroll down on the installation and troubleshooting instructions on the CD, you get all you need to configure it.
