Hi All I intalled the Xampp software found on the disk, once done and the services were starting I got this message for the APACHE service,
" Apache Port 80 is blocked Install Apache Service failed !"
I can verify the service won't start, when I ran the port checking program I found installed in the start menu I noticed that:
"Apache <HTTP> Port 80, Status = C:/Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe"
How do I fix this and successfully start the service?

It seems this a well documented issue, I found info on google.
It was as simple as quitting skype starting Apache service and then starting Skype up. Port Check util now verifies port 80 belongs to Apache and logging onto localhost via the Web Browser works (takes to German Xampp page).
Installation Done!

skype runs on port 80. After install, go to httpd.conf in the xampp/conf folder and change the line
listen 80
listen 8080

In browser use http://localhost:8080
