Should have done this on Osprey a long time ago.... maybe start one now? Why have it hosted in Samoa? Or will a family go hungry if we do it here?

I was just thinking yesterday about a way to retain the knowledge of 3rd and 4th year students to the benefit of other students. But was thinking in terms of maybe appointing and paying for online tutors who roam our forums and help where they can, or perhaps a hons project module where you present a report on your experience as a tutor. Maybe even a ticketing system. I do think there is a lot to gain from being a tutor like that - it's not only that you give, but you learn a lot as well, as well as cementing your knowledge. Or is this a pie in the sky?

Mac, maybe just create an officail wiki? You could get online tutors but I'm sure most of us here would not mind contributing like we do in the forums smile

OS Ticket works well - already have it installed.

But will people contribute to this wiki and as asked, will it no let a family in Samao go hungry?

paying someone like me to be an online moonlighting tutor for some extra pocket money would be a win for me. (#2 is on the way already drinking smiley )

mac ... i think the "Ws" stands for website not Western Samoa smile

the creator of that website (Bronwen) is a Unisa student
(or ex-graduate) from Cape Town.

Mmmmm .ws is the NIC for Samao, while website.ws is US-based.... what standards?

"
While there are no geographic restrictions on registration of 2nd level .WS domains, there are restrictions on registration of 3rd level .WS domains (.com.ws, .org.ws, .net.ws, .gov.ws, etc). Registration of 3rd level .WS domains is limited to Samoan citizens only.
"

So there you have it. Time I read the standards. So I could have www.mac.za

Ahh...Bronwen! Bright young lady that one is! I remeber her well...she supplied me with a stack of past exam papers for COS301 a few years ago. Made me get a A for that subject.

Very friendly as well..one year before an exam - we started chatting and she pulled out a flask filled with piping hot coffee - best coffee i ever had before an exam!!! Warmed my soul.

Just some useless information smiling smiley

Only www.wikistudent.co.ws (or org.ws etc) would be samoan

> there are restrictions on registration of 3rd level .WS domains (.com.ws, .org.ws, .net.ws, .gov.ws, etc)

but www.wikistudent.ws has nothing to do with samoa.

Which begs another question if mcdonalds will have rights to [www.mcdonalds.us]
