Oh, the transient nature of relationships!

Married, 4 children (same husband), 2 children love computers (like parents), the other 2 have the social skills... must be from the grandparents...

Congrats to those who have found love and marriage! It's a rare thing these days.

But its very hard work to maintain a marriage. Remember that I was so sick last year October....had Encephalitis, I came out of hospital the Friday, and got married the Saturday. The result is, we never got time to do our contract. That result is, we are married in community of property....makes you work on it little harder smile

Before this, I had lots of friends with benefits...it is the best alterative to a relationship. If I knew I would never marry that person, I made sure it never progressed to more that a FWB....

I think it is pure luck to find the right person that you will be happy with for the rest of your life. What is meant by "hard work" - if it's hard work why bother? I think both people in the relationship must not be too sensitive, must be willing to
give in sometimes and must enjoy doing things together.

But no matter what anyone says, when you get married things are slightly differenct. It is an adjustment. And I think if you stop working hard, you dont have a real relationship. People who neer fight or disagree....I think their feelings are not strong enough.

Anybody considering getting married should look at marriage counselling before the time. I got remarried last year and my wife(current) convinced me to do this. What a difference it has made. Its cheap and you can do through your church. They do a profile on your marriage and work on its strengths.

Our results showed that we clash alot, but that is our way of communicating. While this dose not sound healthy, knowing this will helps us to minimise conflict: We will clash the one minute about road directions and then calmly suggest some take-aways when we see a McDees, smile

If my ex-wife and I had done this, we would still be married.

What if you dont belong to a church? And if your wife is specialising as a psychiatrist? I think me can like to be screwed....god cant help, and she will be smarter than the councillor....

Everything is great in my marraige though. It is about understanding each other.... That, and we decided to get out of the mind set that there is always a winner and a loser with each argument. When we argue, we must reach an amicable solution...

Good luck. Single with a friend seems like a good idea for me at the moment. Too young for something too serious. It would be nice to have a girl to go out and have fun with. Watch a movie, have supper, go bowling, hit the arcades...
That would be a dream eye rolling smiley

Dated my wife for 4years and have been married for 7years, daughter is 4years.
marriage isnt all sunshine and roses, it takes continued effort from both husband and wife to make a marriage work.Basically what you put in is what you will get out. trust me there have been times when i have contemplated getting on my bike and riding till there ain't more road (in south africa that wont be very far), but in retrospect those big mountains of problems we faced, ended up being nothing more than speedbumps in the road.
