JFLAP

Hi all.

I found a nice tool to help me with FA. It's called JFLAP - a JAVA applet that helps to evaluate FA,Turing machines etc. It's very easy to use and I found it quite helpful in checking whether my FA worked.

Its available for free download from http://www.jflap.org.

Note that this is a JAVA applet, so you need the JAVA runtime (available free from Sun if I remeber correctly)

Hope this can help somebody!

managed to download both JLAP and java runtime. I installed java however, running JLAP is the problem as for now. I can find executable file the JLAP folder I downloaded. Could you please help? Found instructions on how to run it on their website but it clear enough.

Hi - sorry for the late reply - busy studying a lot..

I created a batch file in the folder where I extracted the jflap files. To do this open notepad, type the following into a new file: java JFLAP

Then save as a text file, but with a .bat extension, eg run.bat (remember the .bat extension!)

When you double click the file it would run Jflap. Voila!

Let me know if this didn't work. This is actually an old DOS trick...

Hi. Which option do I choose for TG? Using FA does not work. Thanks.
