S+ Question
April 04, 2008 05:08PM
Im having trouble with question 10? Ass 1

I dont understand what the textbook is telling me?

Does S+ include the null string sysmbol or not, because S* certainly does.

My understanding is that it does not and that the first option would be false ie

A (S+)* = (S*)* is false

Am i correct?

Looking at the question again i c it has the closure symbol attached to it, so that means (S+)* would include the null string after all making the option True?

Am i correct?

Thx

S+ is defined on p 17. You are correct, (S+)* includes the null string.
