OK, I'vedoen this one as well. I've also made some huge inroads on the project - the form to create a new student is validating the data very nicely, and making sure that the birthdate is formatted properly and that everythign goes to the right place in the table.

Just out of interest, is there a particular reason why we're not using the DATE MySQL datatype for the birthdate?

Also- I've used PHP5 for years, is using it in my project a problem? I find it's a lot more flexible than PHP4.

We use basic MySQL in this course, so we stay away from datatypes.

You can use 4 or 5 no problem.

Thanks. I have started my project a few min after writing this post as I only found out about it. I know, very late lol But hopefully all goes well. I was a little worried about php 4 and 5 but thanks for clearing it up. smile
