i'd say the paper was more difficult than last year's one, but then again it wasn't as incorrect as last year's one.

good luck guys!

Ethical question.... people writing in NZ.. which is how many hours ahead of us... what stops someone from leaking exam questions to people who live in south africa and west of south africa?
Re: Random thread

Thanks Celene!

That is a good question.

nothing but good morals, which isn't enough of course.

Re: Random thread
October 18, 2007 10:31AM
You know Lycium you are my favourite person around....Wana do me a favour?
avatar Re: Random thread
October 18, 2007 10:32AM
actually i'm busy typesetting the solution to the most difficult question in the paper now, but obviously can't post it until the 18th is well and truly over.

it really must have sucked to write this exam without either studying your ass off for months beforehand, or being knowledgeable in the subject beforehand :/

no.
Re: Random thread
October 18, 2007 10:35AM
What do you mean no! You have to wait until i ask you a favour then you can say No. you don't precede a question with an answer...logic forbids that!
avatar Re: Random thread
October 18, 2007 10:36AM
btw, according to our exam paper pi = 3.14157, wtf...
Re: Random thread
October 18, 2007 10:38AM
According to you what is PI equal to....because science also says that
it's equal to 3.14157

1. you're a fish out of water talking about logic.
2. you asked if i can do you a favour, i answered no.

Were you sayin no to me asking you a favour or to the favour...

Re: Random thread

Let's do this the traditional way....We'll leave it for a new thread that we'll start after receiving our results to end the battle the non-Jo'Burg way...

are you serious that you have been asked?? I must say the thought did once cross my mind but I never acted a/upon in. I would feel sooo guilty...
avatar Re: Random thread
October 18, 2007 11:14AM
well, just a theory, but maybe unisa thought about this. And seeing that there are subs and all kinds of other exam requirements, they might have more than one paper? And then maybe, they give different papers to studeents in different time zones. That is what I would have done smiling smiley
avatar Re: Random thread

tip of the iceberg, the guy was at least semi discreet about it. earlier this year, i think for cos214, some idiot emailed all the students whose email addresses were listed! well, since he was so keen to go public, i posted it on the forum...

natural selection at work, that's all smiling smiley
avatar Re: Random thread

i think it's not such a big problem since if you're smart enough to pass these courses, you're smart enough to realise that helping douchebags cheat their way through the little real work required just sinks the value of your degree.

of course, if i were really hard up for cash it might be different, but fortunately that's not the case tongue sticking out smiley
avatar Re: Random thread

And....you think in a certain way, but I must say, other people would surprise you with their values. That is why I think, since UNISA has been in this game for a while....surely they must plan for worse case scenarios?

The solution is easy. AFTER the exam, exchange with a person here and see if its the same?
avatar Re: Random thread
October 18, 2007 11:25AM
i already have, we got the same exam.

and since you talk about worst case scenarios, please note that robert mugabe has a unisa degee...
Re: Random thread
October 18, 2007 11:26AM
I reckon its the same exam, Unisa wouldn't think like that.
avatar Re: Random thread
October 18, 2007 11:31AM
hell, the cos321 exam is basically unchanged since 2004 winking smiley
avatar Re: Random thread
October 18, 2007 11:32AM
btw i found myself doing long division in the cos321 exam cuz some fuckwit decided not to send instructions to allow calculator usage...
